Brexit challenges will transform City, says Sunak | Business

The City of London is set to experience a “Big Bang 2.0” as the financial services industry adapts and prospers in post-Brexit Britain, according to the chancellor.

More than 30 years after Margaret Thatcher’s Big Bang deregulation turned London into a global financial capital, Rishi Sunak said that he would “get on and make sure that the City of London remains the most dynamic place to do financial services anywhere in the world”.

The chancellor said that he was working closely with industry representatives on a range of measures to boost the City’s attractiveness as a destination for business.
